Here we have the original (and in my opinion, most beautiful and desirable) version of the NightHawk.

I'm usually very careful with headphones and try to keep them in pristine condition...but I used to use these constantly and apparently wasn't careful enough, resulting in them becoming my backup pair after purchasing another some time ago. (Honestly, I blame AudioQuest for such subpar materials and design for the headband and pads.)

The headband isn't in the best condition and won't stay fully taut (at the minimum setting) anymore. (It could also use some cleaning, which I am not proficient at.) If you have a large head, it may still fit...but be aware of this issue and plan accordingly.

The last time I asked AudioQuest about replacement headbands, they said they no longer had any. At any rate, the headbands from the NightHawk Carbon and NightOwl Carbon can be installed on the original NightHawk. It may be possible to send it in to AudioQuest to be repaired. There are DIY solutions as well. (If all else fails, you can always put a shirt on your head. I can confirm this works. haha!)

The hybrid pads (protein leather + microsuede) are in such bad shape that I am not including them.

You can buy a new set of aftermarket pads for $10 to $50. Here are some Brainwavz options on Amazon.

The only pads I can vouch for from experience that are still available for sale are the $50 AudioQuest microsuedes, but they aren't always in stock.

"It's pretty much compatible with most pads, but you NEED the plastic ring bracket with the pegs that lock into the cup. It just requires cutting a holes for the pegs on the new pads."

The rest of the headphone is in perfect working order and only has minor cosmetic imperfections.

Pairs in good condition tend to sell for over $300 nowadays, so you're getting major savings, as it were. (Plus this original version is hard to find.)
