Up for sale today is something you very rarely see, and unfortunately for me is going to be a catch and release.
The Angstrom 200 was a TOTL DAC/Preamp designed by Mike Moffat, co-founder of schiit, in the 1990s, and originally retailed for about $3500. This dac uses a combination of r2r and multibit chips from what I've read, and compared to my monolith 788 it shows. The angstrom has better mid range and treble detail, timbre, and texture, along with great vocal decay. I find myself preferring the sound of the 788 though, as it's a little less energetic in the treble. I can see this pairing very well with something like a sennheiser 6--.
Please don't hesitate to message me with questions, there isn't a lot of info out on this, so I'm more than happy to answer what I can.
I'm also interested in a trade for a bifrost 2.
