What exactly was modified on the magnetic headband adjustment? I’ve never heard of that failing.

I believe the Diana discussion thread it is strewn with people having a magnet displacement issue. Abyss have been doing warranty repairs and people have been repairing their own for some time. I think the issue was fixed for V2 (I’m not certain). Rest assured it can never happen for these headphones, that’s for sure. The headband adjusters work perfectly and always will. There is no cosmetic indication of modification whatsoever. Certainly you should be wary of purchasing a V1 that has not had this issue addressed.

Does that mean abyss addressed your headphones so now they would never fail?

Of course this is an in house modification, I wasn’t going to spend hundreds of dollars for some American to do a half job (when quite frankly, they should have got it right the first time). But it’s no big deal, the 20 magnets that form the headband adjusters on each side are now permanently bonded to the headphone shells, rather than badly glued to pieces of plasticard. They cannot come loose under normal use. Certainly if the Diana sound is your thing, at the rock bottom price of £1,250 you won’t find better condition headphones at this price, they literally are better than new. I know for sure an Abyss UK dealership will happily sell you a V1 for £2,500, so I’m only wanting half price. Feel welcome to rock up on a try before you buy basis, you won’t be disappointed!:
