Will the shipping also include batches being sent to Addicted to Audio in Australia? (That's where I buy most of my things from). Will the pads also be available to purchase through that retailer, or solely through the Sennheiser stores?

Wonder how these will sound compared to something like the Radiance. Especially interested to hear the imaging and soundstage on this!
Short answer it looks that way https://addictedtoaudio.com.au/products/sennheiser-hd620s-closed-back-headphones

Most retailers around the globe have the option to stock spare parts if they want. Some do, some don't. If you like to buy through them (and we think that's great) ask them if they can procure it first. But you be able to buy them though the sennheiser-hearing.com store/office after launch.
I own a Sennheiser Game One since 2016 which has also a HD5xx chassis, changed the earpads once and have zero issues with the headband cushion. And if I need to change it, I can do that with little effort. I do not sesne a problem here.
On the bass my understanding is that the HD620s has more bass than the HD660S2.
I am very tempted to pre order the HD620s.
The bass measures higher but perception will be slightly different than 660S2 die to the closed/open characteristics. YMMV but the HD 620S bass has a tad more slam than the HD 660S2, however the 660S2 bass and overall signature is warmer...it feels more like a shelf eq even if the charts indicate otherwise. But again, bass is a highly personal perception so I'll just say I hope you get to try it for yourself.

I know this is a topic dedicated to HD620s and, by the way, I'll ask a burning question....

Hello Sennheiser. Any news about HD900 !!!!???
Rest assured my friend - they're cooking. Give it a couple more years please. Meanwhile feel free to fill the void in your soul with some other all-consuming concepts and things.

As for the HD620s, it is a delicate balance of things.
I see what was Sennheiser's intention in all aspects of the headphone, and what are the public's perceptions and expectations from Sennheiser about their headphones.

A middle ground must be met, in a form of either Sennheiser making a strong educational campaign about their design decisions (which is always welcome, please have no fear to talk to us like adults and explaining why you did X the way you did.)
This way you get to partially avoid stupid, uninformed opinions penetrating the discourse about your product.
After all - there's very few secrets in audio after all these years.

The other way would be making an educated survey of the people's expectations about your products AND a company as a whole - and trying to meet them somewhere on the way. Doesn't have to be a total cave-in of course. A middle ground or just taking it as a basis for further journey will be sufficient.

I will of course purchase this headphone and get try it first-hand in order to find out just how good it can be :)

But even I cannot get behind the decision of having the pads and the headband glued on. No, just - no. No.

Who said the ear pads are glued on? I don't see anything in this thread that states that.

And some of you are acting like you replace headbands every year or something, lol.

We don't do that.

Correct-- we never, ever said the HD 620S earpads we're glued on. The headband pad adheres to the headband like we've done on many (but not all) headphones for over 20 years, and we said that without tap dancing around it. Most of Head-Fi still slept well last night after their preorders.

It is glued on, and people using wax or other stuff in their hair style, might accelerate the cushions degradation.

I know you doing adesive headband but don t understand doing this in 6 series which is more premium headphones than 5 series and have replaceable headband modular one which is appropriate with medium priced headphones nowadays...in the hot climate glue is you worse enemy i known that...maybe next time you you will replaced glue with real series replaceable headband all people would be more happy with that system trust me...thanks

The sliders, I presume, are plastic like 560s.

If indeed plastic, adjusting clamp will be a PITA. Metal bends and stays bent. Plastic springs back to original position. Eventually it will adjust (some) but nowhere near as easily as metal.

As someone who's replaced a few of the glued on headband pads, it's really not a big deal. I've had to do it at least 4 times over the years with my 5 series sets. Just peal the old one off, press the new one on. I had minimal residual adhesive leftover after pealing the old ones off, so I spent minimal time cleaning/prepping before adding the new pads. And I believe on the last swap I just left the small spots of leftover adhesive and just stuck the new pads on, which are currently still on and working just fine.

Would the nicer 600/650 slider attachment mechanism be easier? Yeah for sure. But is it really that big of a deal to get bothered over? At $349 I'm ok with the adhesive pads. If it came out at $599 like the 660S2 with adhesive pads then yeah i'd be mad. I'll take a lower entry point and adhesive pads any day. I actually am quite happy they're priced at $349 vs $599, etc.

And in the end who cares about pad attachments if it sounds awesome? I hope it sounds awesome, I love the 6 series headphones. I'm always a bit scared with this new ownership group, but the 660S2 for me was a home run, I love it. If the 620 approaches it sonically, that's another home run for hearing aid Sennheiser! :)

EDIT - Lets keep price in perspective here. The 620 is the lowest priced 6 series, so compromises are to be expected. I just hope all those compromises are aesthetics and not sonics.

EDIT EDIT - I still think it's boring looking hahaha. I'm not a complete fanboy  But if it sounds good then it's money well spent. I just hope it isolates well, there's a certain someone in the office that just loves to complain about anything she can hear that she feels she shouldn't "have" to hear. ie my death metal....
