I think you can ship a small parcel to China with USPS for between $15 and $30.   I think they charge more for tracking.

Anybody else have shipping advice for China?

I did not know about the ability to clear out flash.  I suppose you could also "reflash" the firmware to clear thing out also.

It would not make sense to me to purchase a refurbished X3 II when a new model is coming out pretty darn soon.  Plus other brands may be of interest at this price point, including Cayin and Shanling.

Of course it makes the most sense to get you current unit working properly.

I was told by Fiio customer support that tracking was a must. I'm going to check with the USPS to see how much they would charge.

Thanks for your reply,

Jeff

no, only a 3.5mm to RCA stereo cable like this: https://www.amazon.com/Mediabridge-3-5mm-Male-2-Male-Adapter/dp/B004YEBK66/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1489381249&sr=8-6&keywords=3+5mm+to+rca

Should also set the multi-function output to line out if you are not using a DAC between the X3ii and Jazz amp, if you have a DAC then you would set the multi-function output to coax and connect it to the coax input of your DAC

Took the plunge, Shure SE425 coming my way to use with my X3II. Good price on eBay.

Just so you know, and if anyone is interested, I was able to purchase the Shure SE425 for $213.5 after discounts. Currently eGlobal central is having them for $219 (I do not know for how long) and I found another $6 promo code. Very good deal, in Amazon they are $300.

  Thanks!
Damn DSD files and the space they take... :p

I have converted many DSD files to FLAC at 24 -88.   The difference is subtle and the resulting files are much smaller.  I just keep the DSD files for more complex music (some classical and jazz).

You could reduce the size further (to ~50%) by converting the files to 16 bit. I don't hear a difference between 16 and 24 bit.

Why stop there?  Why not go with MP3 at 128?

OK, its late at night, perhaps a bit punchy.

It was just a recommendation, not an ideologic statement. If you need 24 bit to be satisfied, I'm fine with that. However, half the file size for (probably) the same sonic result is worth considering.
