I am currently using a pair of Skull Candy SK pro. I really like the sound but the problem with these is that after using them for sometime, my ears start to hurt. I have pretty big ears and my ears do not fit inside these Skull candies. I am looking to buy a new pair of headphones and was looking at Audio Technica ATH-M50X

Quesries:
1)Is the sound quality comparable to the SK Pro's?
2)SK Pro has 50mm drivers so they must be louder?
3)Are the ear pads larger than SK Pro's? This is the most important.

I am looking for the most comfortable headphones under 200$.

Be patient. Sometimes it takes a little time before someone replies. And note the posting guidelines about bumping your posts. http://www.head-fi.org/a/posting-guidelines: "You may, if there are no replies to your question after at least 24 hours, "bump" the thread by making a post, but not sooner."

I have no experience with the Skull Candy SK Pros. However, I would be surprised if the M50X don't have better overall sound quality.

Sensitivity ratings tell you how loud a headphone gets for a certain amount of power (at their impedance). Just because drivers are bigger does not tell you that they will automatically be louder. In fact, most of the most sensitive headphones are IEMs.

My first headphones were the ATH m50x and the sound pretty good. The sound signature is fairly neutral/ natural sounding. But I found the pads to get warm after a few hours use. Furthermore I found the headphones clamped a little hard, but I adjusted the headband and it's know longer a concern. I feel these headphones hit there stride, when amped. I used the Fiio E12, and was amazed by the result.

1) Do I need a portable Amplifier if I am gonna use the M50X with LG G3 or laptop? If yes, then please suggest one.
2) Is there a better pair of headphones around 200$?

PS:Amazon does not ship the DT770 32 ohm to my country and I cannot buy it anywhere.

I may actually able to get the DT770 32 ohm if Amazon decides to restock.
Which one of these is better in terms of:
1. Sound quality
2.Portability(This is slightly important)

I am gonna use these for college which begins Fall 2015.

1) The M50X are not to difficult to drive. If the M50X easily reach the volumes you listen to, then you'll probably be good.
2) Difficult for people to answer since they don't know prices or availability in your country.

Looks like I'll be able to get any pair of headphones available in USA by buying it through ebay , even the DT 770. So please suggest the best pair around 200$.
