500+ Head-Fier
My dream headphone would be a cross between the SASH Tres 45ohm, and the Beyerdynamic DT-880 600ohm.
The SASH has luscious, emotive mids and freakishly accurate bass that reaches deep when the track calls for it, all wrapped in a gorgeous, warm organic sound that sometimes sends shivers down my spine. Their weakness is that north of around 1500hz, things can feel a little veiled and soft.
The DT-880 has lovely snap and sparkle in the upper mids and treble, and there have been times I've queued up the same track two or three times in a row just to relive that presentation of piano or stacato acoustic guitar. But the bass can feel hollow sometimes, and if it weren't for the energy of those sharp transients I wonder how much "soul" these headphones would have.
The best of both worlds would be an absolute killer.
