B&O H9 Discussion and Impressions thread
This. Didn’t want to say anything... but this is so true. People do this all the time in every industry. His comment about the bass caught me off guard the most. The H9i has more bass ports than the H9, letting in more air allowing for a deeper cleaner bass than the H9. It’s like the guy just...- Michaelc136

B&O H9 Discussion and Impressions thread
This pair just came out in February. Sadly I don’t know what their history of release times have been. The competition releases every 2 years or so. Next one would be the H10. You know they are going to make a big deal about this one. They can either go two ways. No noise cancellation and...- Michaelc136

That’s the downside. After about a few hours of research I found out that their customer service was horrible. They will find a way to blame you for the problem it seems. Shoot I experienced it first hand, when I called customer service once I could tell he was ready to laugh at me. Then two...- Michaelc136

I’d like to present this to everyone. https://www.soundstage.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=1918:b-o-play-beoplay-h9i-bluetooth-noise-canceling-headphones&catid=263&Itemid=203 I think this proves that the H9i is a fairly weird headphone when it comes to frequency response...- Michaelc136

I think we all under estimate how different ears hear things, especially high frequencies. I don’t think the H9i has changed, I also do not believe different models have different signatures. I think most times it comes down to placebo, different hearing styles & environments- Michaelc136

My guy.... DO NOT SEND IN FOR SERVICE. Whatever you do... DO NOT SEND IN FOR SERVICE.(under the presumption that you can still return) The company reputation for customer service is HORRIBLE.... they will tell you it’s fine and then send it back to you. If you have the option of returning...- Michaelc136

Either this is a codec , software version, or placebo issue. I’m betting more on placebo. Let’s take me for instance, I’ve always thought the H9i was fatiguing but I took a break and went on a cruise, currently typing from the middle of the Caribbean and the sound that is coming out of these...- Michaelc136

try again, had all these issues and it was horrible for me. Nobody believed me for weeks but im glad you had these issues to confirm I was not wrong. That screeching sound is annoying. This pair that I have does not do it thankfully.- Michaelc136

Most of the issues were with firmware. I realized that if you buy a brand new Bose headset, enable google assistant, then try and update via Bluetooth, it totally bricks the firmware. Happened multiple times. Had melted leather on one pair Bubbling plastic on another , like the area where the...- Michaelc136

Different stores each time, plus they only exchange if the store associate can verify the problem, which they did each time. I’m not going to type each problem but I’d say the worst was bubbling plastic.- Michaelc136

I exchanged my Bose headsets 10+ times (500 miles driving in total back and forth to the store) The Sony wh1000xm2 has horrendous cracking issues The Bowers and Wilkins has zero comfort and seal Any other headset has bar minimum noise cancelling. No resolution so far. And yes I know you mean without NC. It also goes in and out when you have a charger connected while listening. This problem is because B&O did not insulate the wires enough.- Michaelc136

I think what everyone is forgetting is that it highly highly depends on what music you are listening to. For me it only affects me in certain songs. I know not everyone likes the same music but listen to a track I like , Kids see ghosts by kid cudi. He just released this song and he purposely...- Michaelc136

As a college student the only two places I listen to my H9i is in the library or walking outside on the busy streets. Acoustically you lose many frequencies while walking versus sitting in a quiet space. Putting it on “Excited” enhances those certain frequencies I lose while walking outside...- Michaelc136

You hit the nail on the head. Yes that exactly how its supposed to be. Thats the mistake people make all the time. My bad, I keep forgetting my EQ is always toward “Excited” mode so yes for me it’s more VShaped. But whenever the Eq is “off” I definetly believe it’s more tuned toward the highs. I love how clean the bass is on these things, they are definetly not accentuated they are just clean, so clean...- Michaelc136

Ok mabye something got lost in translation my bad. I think of critical listening like mixing and mastering professional audio systems. Err going to have to disagree with you here. These are strictly V-shaped headphones, even with the EQ settings they are all primarily V shaped, plus the headphones are tuned toward the high frequencies which have struggles. Dont get me wrong its an amazing headphone but not all situations...- Michaelc136
