Neverwait--chaste?
Neverwait--chaste?
Haha I do that for all the time, even for wooden furniture. Cocobolo, being a rosewoods, have a unique smell. Is it weird to smell your headphones every time you put them on? Asking for a friend.
My friend loves the smell of cocobolo, by coincidence.
JUST posted my Auteur/Aeolus/Vérité comparison if you guys would like some reading material Auteur/Aeolus/Vérité
Won't open for me BNC.
The Michanikos is a silver plated copper with insulation to make it more smooth sounding which might lead to these results I suppose.
We will be releasing a pure silver 2K hybrid cable, with the finest strands we could get for each metal in the coming week. The cable is dual conductor, and will be available to be made in pure silver or hybrid arrays. We also worked hard to get rid of all microphonics. I'll try to get a couple cables out there for feedback soon!
Any chance the cables will be Litz??

Just found out one of our dealers in Canada has a new Blackwood auteur. It's at Hivemind cables - and you can reach them by emailing Jerrold: jerrold@hivemindcables.com
I somewhat remember it being a really nice set, but anyways - we get emails fairly often for Blackwood auteur's, here's a chance to get a new one which we can't do anymore because we don't have blackwood in stock!

Other woods are great (especially Cocobolo) but Blackwood is one of a kind. Not easy to imitate it's sonic "character"![]()
So how would you describe the Blackwood character in comparison to the other woods? I'm a ZMF n00b and bought a Blackwood, which I love, and have a Verite on order in Ziricote, but I'm curious to hear more about the sonic characters. On the ZMF website and I think I've heard others say that the harder woods sound faster and the softer woods have a longer decay. Is there more to it than that?
The only other Auteur I did own and that can compare from memory is Teak. Compared to Blackwood, Teak was slightly more "thinner" sounding. Not that it was lacking bass but the higher frequency regions got slightly more emphasis due to the nature and resonant frequency of the wood. The Blackwood on the other hand showed a more "heavy" tone, notes that stroke you more and it presented a more sub-woofer like effect down low. And the speed was a little better on Blackwood even thought Teak sounded somewhat airier, like the sound was "breathing" more. I've long sold my Teak to get the Blackwood so can't remember any better, sorrySo how would you describe the Blackwood character in comparison to the other woods?
