Couple of weeks ago, I discovered that my X-Can V2 is not working or at least not working properly. Namely it produces a weak terribly distorted sound. Otherwize it fires up normally and the led lits up when you supply power.
The question is are the tubes gone or the reason should be tracked elsewhere. I need advise before purchasing new tubes. The unit is not guaranteed anymore so I'll have to fix it myself.
Any info greatly appreciated.

Sounds very like one of your getters is stuffed. Have you inspected the valves for any obvious signs like white powder or blackening??

If the valves look odd then replace them with a pair of matched Mullards available from sean@highendaudio.co.uk for £30
