Good Afternoon,

I need help for my first tube amp...

Highs:            Smooth and Silky. Nothing bright, please.

Mids:                  Smooth. Lush. Ripe. Mellow.

Bass:             Textured and Controlled.

Soundstage:   Prefer something with good Depth. A relaxed presentation.

Basically, I'm looking for smooth, creamy, silky. Overall, euphonic.

Which amp meets my criteria in bold? With what tubes?

Thanks a lot, to all.

Stay away from cheap stuff, and since it's a first-time-out thing, stay away from expensive stuff too.  Try the Cayin HA-1A in triode mode, re-tubed throughout with 50s or 60s NOS from Holland or Britain.  That should get you where you want to be, and there's enough tube choice available to experiment further, if you need to.

I've cycled through the EMP quite a while ago, but with its wallwart supply, I'm not sure it will meet *your* bass requirements.

The RKV is what you want--not sure if you can find a new one at a reasonable price these days--they seem outrageously priced.

Any woo 3 users feel their amp sounds like what I described? I think I want the csp2, but I'm going to hold off for now.

Do you guys think I can get that sound signature from the wa3?

Do you think bass on the earmax can be too flabby?

The Cayin I saw mentioned a lot with low impedance headphones, nothing recently.

I have a solid state (awesome KICAS caliente) need something for 600 ohm Beyers.

I just realized everything I was describing I already have with the KICAS Caliente!

This amp is smooth, very transparent, detailed & sparkly, lush and oh so slightly mellow...and amazingly deep and textured bass. wow.

I'm going to sell my AKG K701's and get these....

#1 HD650

#2 LA2000 "Lite"

#3 Tesla T1

I really love the 701's...it's going to be hard to say good-bye.
