Hello,

This dock is very nice, there is just a problem with it: How do dock the X7 and hear music through the headphones when  docked?
That would be a nice feature to have a docking station leaving some space at the bottom to free the access to the head phone plugs?

Cheeres,

You don't, when its docked you can only get a line out signal, and have the X7 act as a dac via USB. You can also access the line out port on the top. At the moment the X7 firmware doesnt support line out through the dock interface and so you have to use the line out port on the top.

Will post more detailed impressions with pics tmr :)

Very impressive!
One more question - what is a purpose of balanced/lineout switch in the back of the dock?

The retail version won't have the balanced out, mine was a prototype version. I dont have any balanced amps so I cant confirm how well it works. There must be a reason why FiiO took it out for the final release.

So with the line out port, you get a pure line out signal from whatever device you have docked with the exception of FiiO X7. This will be fixed via a future software update, but you can easily still access the kine out port on top of the X7, and the dock serves as a nice stand. Much better than having to use the K5 just as a doc. At 30 bucks, considering the awesome construction and functionality, I would reckon this is one of the better accessories the FiiO has put out to date.

I use mine with the X7 and E17K daily. I know I said I will post but something came up, so when I get a chance I will post more pics and impressions :)

How much is the DK1 going to cost in the USA? I'll be there in August and am seriously concidering getting one while I am there if I don't win. It's a very good looking design. It would go perfectly with my computer speakers that has two inputs. This would be a good addition to my X3II. I wak thinking of the K5, but this would just fit much better for my needs.
