Yes it "will work."
Although, if I'm not mistaken (you can check on this), I don't think the Soundblaster Z has a line out, but rather everything passes through its headphone amp. Thus, you would double amp the sound. Not optimum. I'd probably go with the Xonar D1 or DX since it doesn't have a headphone amp.
