Okay short and sweet here is how I used it:
 
 
                               /-- Speakers Via RCA Cables- Default Always On, unless headphones get plugged in then it switches.
Computer----D1 Dac-
                               \--Headphones Via Front Headphone Jack- When plugged in speakers get turned off automatically.
 
 
Recently I was sent 600ohm DT 990s instead of the 250ohm I ordered so my D1 Dac is struggling.
 
 
So Im looking into buying the Modi&Magni, and want to know if i get the Sys will it work the same as the D1? Yes I know I would have to press that button for it to work so its not automatic.
(please no recommendations, i have my heart set on the stack <3)

I don't think you need the SYS. Get the Magni 2 Uber with the Modi 2. The Magni 2 Uber has pre-amp outs like your Audioengine D1.

But you'll have turn up the volume knob on the SYS each time you want to use the Magni.
