Why do I have to crank the volume on my new X3 Gen. 2 compared to my X1?

Gain is set to high on the X3...both have EQ enabled...55 is about the max volume I use on the X1 where as I have to pump it up to 80 on the X3 to get the same volume. Latest firmware on both.

Is this normal? Just seems...odd. Also, the EQ seems to be far less effective on the X3...Just seems to lower the volume. It being turned off seems to produce the same sound?

Hmmm...

Which headphone are you using?

High gain for 32ohm in-ears. and then also volume of 80. Wow!
With my headphones (see my signature) I always use low gain and my volume is mostly between 20 and 32.
Full-size headphone's like the Philips X1 I bump up the volume to 50 - 60 max. Otherwise it's way to loud.

Do you have other headphones to test? Maybe a faulty X3 II unit, can't say for sure. What u are experiencing is not normal.
