Hello i have been looking at 2 headphones. It is between these:

Razer kraken headphones for 60$:

http://www.razerzone.com/store/razer-kraken

Sennheiser HD 419 headphones for 40$:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826106583

I willl be using these headphones for gaming and listening to music.

The razers have 40mm drivers and i could not find the size of the hd 419's.

I prefer to have 40mm+ drivers. Also would i be able to use any kind of software on the hd 419's to get surround sound?

Yes; also I believe with 419 are a 40mm also...maybe 50. Look into the 439, better all around....but I would say just get which ever...neither are particularly good.

You'll get about twice the sound quality from the Senn than the Razor.
That razor has a lot of boomy bass, and a honky midrange and generally low definition for the money.

The HD419 would be one of the best headphones at it's price range, but the cable is a little flimsy - still great sound quality.

Totally agree with GREQ's comment on Razer's audio quality. My brother stopped using his Electra and Carcharias when I gave him my Superlux HD681B. So, yeah, I'd get the HD419.

If you are just going to use them at home, maybe something semi-open from Superlux would interest you? They should give you a larger soundstage since you mentioned you want some virtual surround. They are cheap too!

Another good suggestion. Very good build quality too.
