Hi,

I recently joined head-fi because I was looking for a sub $100 closed headphone.
After spending some time here, I stumbled upon this review:

This review clinched it for me and I went ahead and bought Denon D1001.

I am interested in knowing what review/comparison other members found most useful before making a purchase(amp, headphone, source component ......)

If you bought gear based on one review, and subsequently liked the gear, you are very fortunate. I try to rely on a number of reviews and an audition if I can pull it off. In my experience, some gear which I think should sound good turns out to be awful, and some gear which looks unimpressive is sometimes quite good. Good review, good audition, and good price is the best, and it does sometimes happen.

^^ no I did not rely on a single review. I had already read lots of reviews of the headphones which I was considering. Its just that I got allmost all the info I needed ,from this review and it corroborated pretty well with the bits & peices I had been accumulating on them.

So, it was the clincher for me.

I bought my headphone (HD600) after using them on several occasions.

No review biased me there.
