I was wondering what the major difference between the 225 (2008, early 2009) and the 225i which is the most current.

I found a local store who deals grados, and they have the 225s. Is there any audible difference? or a spec difference? I will probably have to make a choice today...

it would be great to hear from those who have heard/owned both.

The difference is cosmetic.

Ive heard from someone whos tried the the sr60s and sr60is and he said the only difference he heard was that the sr60is had more bass and maybe a slighly bigger soundstage

so its just cosmetic? I heard they increased the body size and diaphragm

Changed housing and new, thicker cable.

How does that affect the SQ? I'm pretty sure the new housing should change the sound somewhat.
