I just received a pair of them in very good condition. The elastics on the headband are even good. The bass is almost nonexistent. This may be to the pads being worn(I assume). I plan to hang on to these. I love the sound signature. These are a nice change of pace to my HD580s. I actually prefer the highs to the 580s. So what would be the best replacement pads? Oh yeah, I have the LP version.

The K240/271 stock vinyl pads.
Other pads, like the K240/271 velour and DT770 pads will alter the sound for the worse.

May I recommend that you buy some lambskin and glue it onto the pads you already have? (unless you really like the pads as they are, the glue is non-reversible). If you are handy with a needle you could also sew them on.

I don't have a sextett but I've done this to all my vintage cans.
