A have thrown away my skullcandy and beats and opened the world of good headphones with the Koss dj100s, i enjoy listening to them but I hear of these "amps" for headphones that make them sound better, please tell me of good amps that are cheap that I can also use with a ipod classic 7 generation 160g.

If you like bassiness, the $60 CMoyBB 2.03 from JDS Labs has a nice bass boost circuit activated by a switch inside the amp. It's a good all-around amplifier, too.

What's your price range? If you're looking for a budget amp a fiio E11 plus a LOD is good:

The E6 will do a basic job of making the sound louder (the base goal of an amp), whereas the E11 or CMoyBB will add more sonic quality to the music, not just volume.

So basically the E6 isn't as good as the E11 or cmoys yet are cheaper, well also wanted to respond by say that I listen to a lot of electronic, such as KAVINSKY, or COM TRUISE, so you guys should listen to that at youtube and tell what will make such music sound better on a pair of yet-to-be burn headphones.

Ya, so I really like the cMoys, those E11s are pretty cheap, and I did some reseach here on Head-fi and found out that those PA2V2s are really popular. Oh man so many choices., also what pads should I get for my DJ1000s because the stock one are SO uncomfortable.

Not the best, but I like the Fiio E5. Somehow it seems to sound best with the DJ100 when I DON'T use it with a LOD cable. I had the same experience with my Total Airhead.
If you get an amp that's too warm, sometimes it's not a good match for the DJ100. The PA2V2 is on my list to try.

The DJ100 definitely DOES benefit from a desktop amp too. Sounds good from the large 1/4" jack on the E9 despite the 10ohm output. It doesn't seem to effect the sound.

Has anyone tried the E10 with the DJ100? I think someone mentioned it's a darker sounding dac/amp and might not play well with the DJ100. Not sure about this..
