Just received, A Decade Of Steely Dan, and I decided The K701's are the best for this task! As always, my PPX3-Slam will handle the power details nicely. These older recordings need some detail, so for 5687's, I am using Ray Theon's.

Ray's Sr-71 and hd650/zu, a very good pair if you love the senn house sound. I also use sr-325's. The sr-71 helps take some of the shrill highs out of those cans.

AKG-501 phones. Amp? Bose CD player. Believe it or not, the combination is synergistic - very warm and plenty of bass.

The Beethoven Quartet 130 played by the Talich quartet sounds very beautiful - with the wide soundstaging I've found so special with these phones.
