New Head-Fier
Sennheiser HD 25-13 is an on-ear DJ/monitoring headphone with an impedance of 600 Ohms. I never found any numbers for sensitivity, though. Or rather, I found a lot of conflicting data: some websites claim 120 dB, others 106, and others yet just indicate a vague "more than 92 dB". The manual (which this model shares with the 70 Ohm variant) does not list sensitivity in the specs.
With impedance that high, I don't expect normal listening volume out of any old minijack. Some amplification is required.
In this thread I am hoping to hear from some owners of this headphone. What do you plug into to get comfortable listening levels out of these cans? How much power does an amp need to output to properly drive them? Maybe you can clear up the spec vagueness?
P.S.: Construction of the headphone allows for use of a balanced cable, terminated in the same kind of connector Sennheiser's full-size models use. So that's on the table for amplification I suppose.
