I don't gravitate nor listen to the old-school (even if played today) soft brush, stand-up, piano, sax jazz. I love it in a club, up close, hearing some sax player improvise for 5 straight minutes. It's great, just not under headphones, for me. So, this is my kinda jazz. Enjoy!

Generally I don't care much for Fabio Biondi in Vivaldi, I prefer Manze, Il Giardino Armonico and Carmignola, they treat concertos with more variety in mood and tempi.
But his L'Estro Armonico is the the best recording. Here Biondi's cocky and at times a bit 'macho' approach works wonders. He is also more subtle than in his other recordings. Much better than Trevor Pinnock's polite and rather dull recording on Archiv.
With La Stravaganza it is the other way around. Here Biondi is too crude, he wants to give every concerto the same drive and excitement and it sounds rather forced and strained as a result. Pinnock shows much more variety and while the tempi are more moderate it is never dull. Rachel Podger's recording on Chanel Classics somewhat finds a middle ground, it leans however more to Pinnock's approach.

Snarky Puppy - Immigrance.png
Song composed by Justin Stanton, keyboard player in the band.

Snarky Puppy - Culcha Vulcha.png
Song composed by the band leader Michael League. Nicely snarky.

Snarky Puppy - Sylva.png
These two go together ...

From 2019, 2016 and 2015. All their music is great, my favorite is "Sylva" due
to the contribution by the Metropole Orkest from Hilversum, Netherlands. They
have many interesting projects. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metropole_Orkest
Thanks @koover for the idea. HD800 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~> :)
