What Are You Listening To Right Now?

A is for Accident by The Dresden Dolls

This is one of the better officially-sanctioned live recordings out there that's not a fusion-jazz album or an orchestral recording, up in league with the production quality of The Talking Heads' Stop Making Sense and Dave Matthews Band's Remember Two Things. It's a pretty bare-bones band (a piano, some drums, and Amanda Palmer) in a small venue, but that created a pretty simple mic situation and led to a good recording. You can find it (and more releases) for free on Amanda Palmer's site.

Vinyl. It's great to finally be able to listen to this album without it drowning in digital clipping.

Edit
Listening to this at the moment. It's probably my fifth or sixth time in a row; I can't get enough of this song! I can't stand the original, but this is awesome.

Fantastic album! By the way, listen to "Stray Cat Blues" through headphones and you will hear a flaw in the master tape that was used when the album was reissued in high resolution. Somewhere around 2:19 to 2:23 in "Stray Cat Blues," you will hear the left channel fade out...
