I was hoping Westone would be able to repair it, because anything comparable is really expensive to buy. I've only had these headphones for a little over 3 years before the treble in the left one decided to crap out. Not far after buying a brand new cable too...

It's out of warranty and out of production, so all Westone could offer is a 25% off coupon to get the w40 for $375.

I've been out of the loop for years now and LOVED those 4r's; I can't tell if this is a good option or to get a different headphone, so I need your help.

I have the same problem.  Took my W4's out yesterday and the stem where the tips are was just snapped off from the body.  Been out of the loop on IEMs for a while and was just looking for something new.

Nothing really jumping out at me.  Except things in the 700+ dollar range that I'm really interested in shelling out the cash fro at the moment.
