Ah OK...hmmm...I may still be interested, I've never had customs before but i like what you're saying about your W3 reshelled, that's exactly how I would have changed them from what I heard. Let me know when you're ready.
It might not be a bad idea to hold on to them as a pair of "knock around" CIEMS for out and about - I have Inearz working on JH16, W4R and TF10 customs - I figure, just as I have a few flavors of universal, why not have a few CIEMs - as long as I don't have to hock my car!
I really like my Westone 3 - but it is one of the only Shure/Westone shaped IEMs that fit me well and seal completely with the included foamies - I don't think I will be making a custom out of it - detachable cables would be nice, but not a deal breaker.
I thought you were going get by the W30.
Based on reviews and the threads on W3 vs W4, W3 tends to have a little bit more bass then the W4, is that correct? Can I assume that W30 would have more bass than W40?

Yes the w3 have more bass then the w4 but as for the w40 I couldn't tell you because the drivers are tuned differently this time around.
Given that the w40 has more bass than the w4, and that nobody has heard the w30, it's impossible to know.
Thanks.
Were the w30 ever put on sale? I checked Earphone Solutions and it says the w30 should of shipped by Feb, shouldn't some people already have them for reviews.
One would think...yet the W30s aren't listed on Westone's website, so who knows. I actually contacted them about a review sample but never heard back. Not sure what their plans are...
