just saw the We Are The World 2010 (for Haiti) debut.
And couldn't help but notice the headphones being used...
Looks like the Beyer dt770 pro was the most widely used...
did anyone else go gaga to see your favorite stars wearing your favorite cans?

I believe too, since you mentioned the Beyer's, that the AKG K701 and Sony MDR-7506 were in the mix. There were other phones as well.

Here it is.

YouTube - We Are The World 25 For Haiti - Official Video

I liked the rapping part they put in there. What's wrong with showing some passion when they're performing this and yea, awesome headphones in there. I think the director/producer or conductor or whatever was wearing the K701. Also couldn't help but notice a lot of them were wearing them flip flopped with the cable on the right, instead of the left. Barbara Streisand looked funny trying to look cool by holding her headphones upside down.

Didnt like it at all. The original was the best.

The vocal effects applied to the rappers seem terribly ostentatious, considering the occasion. Bleh.

On a positive note, this reminded me of satire inspired by 'World' in Bruno and Wag the Dog. I am now watching Wag the Dog. (Head-fi relation = Willie Nelson!)

Not to be a bitch... but i think this would have been more appropriate during the tsunami where a whole continent was hit, much like was the case with the original version (afrika).

I can't help but think this is just another way to lift off the death of micheal jackson.

//edit... boy there are some bad singers in that selection.

Yeap.... That's the great Quincy Jones conducting and wearing the K701.

I don't like Rap much but outside the guy in blue shirt signing like a goat I think it was good. To me it was cool that they kept some of the old song and mixed some new rhythms to it. You can even see some classic rock and mainstream artists there singing like Barbara Streisand, The girls from Heart, Santana, Tony Bennett, Gladys Night, Celine Dion, Tony Braxton, Natalie Cole, Brian Wilson and brother and 3 of the original members from Earth Wind & Fire.
