Watching the "Holiday at Pops" thing on A&E, and was just struck by the microphone in Martina McBride's hand. No, it was closer to being in her mouth. I understand the need to capture the sound for tv and all, but put the mic on a stand. This may sound stupid, and most of the people there don't care, but the only electronics I would want involved with a sympony are those in an air conditioner. Don't give me the 'she has a quiet voice" crap, if you have a quiet voice you shouldn't be singing solo.

Ok, the woman on now (singing "hark the herald angels sing"), is more what I would expect....

yeah, mic'ed classical singing is stupid. i go to the opera to hear humans sing, not a p.a. system.
