I have a Sony Walkman WM-D6C that is on its last legs. I am not willing to let it die until I have rebuilt CD/MD versions of my cassette coollection.
In particular, the unit tends to eat tape quite a bit regardless of my extensive cleaning. The motor has stopped altogether at times but restarts when I have left it alone a long while.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how I should approach a clean, adjust and lubrication (CLA) process? What type of oil is best? What parts should I be sure to clean & oil? What parts should I leave alone altogether?
Thanks very much in advance for any suggestions.
