Of the wooden cans I've owned, here's how I would rank them on SQ:
LCD-3 > TH-900 > LCD-2 > W3000ANV > D7000
The W3000ANVs are spectacular headphones IMHO.
W3000 is good for vocals. Good bass extension, lush mids and decent highs. Treble is good and sparkly too. These are source picky though and do gets confused by fast paced and especially complex music. Isolation is great and if you're willing to bend the headband and tie the y wings together comfort is also superb. I found that they had too much of a v shaped clamp stock though so bending the headband was necessary for me. Don't need very much power to drive these, actually it's comparable to my grado 225is which are notorious for not needing an amp to sound pretty good.

Does the W3000 sound similar to the portable ATH-ESW9?
