Im using sound blaster z with ad 700 headphones on windows 7. I was playin counter strike GO when all of a sudden the volume blasted to a hurting level. Im now trying to lower the volume using the creative control panel and windows sound options but its not working. Itll show the number changing but the audio is still at the same deadly level.
I cant change the volume at all through windows or the control panel - i have to lower the applicaion volume itself. My hdmi's volume is still fine though.
edit: i restarted my comp and now it works fine. should i be worried about this? i was reading somewhere that the sound blaster z capacitors are low quality. could this be a problem? I've had it since around december and this is the first time I've had volume problems - I usually have problems with the audio where I have to reset my BIOS otherwise the sound blaster z control panel won't work.
Thinking of just switching to a USB headset if I continue having these sorts of problems.
