I'm hoping you DIY guys can help me out here. What would happen if I used a regulated 4.5V 800 mA ac adapter in a minidisc player whose DC input stated 5V 800 mA? Anything bad?

BTW.This adapter also charges the gumstick NiMh battery while it's in the MD player.

The MD player will probably run fine on 4.5 volts, but the charger might not charge the battery properly at the lower voltage. Make sure the polarity is correct!
