• I will be more than happy to stay with HPA V200 and HPA V281 (original). The V-three hundreds just look ridiculous.

I wonder if any audio/mixing engineers do use these type of amps in studio. Maybe if they use harder to drive HPs? Or maybe for home desktop studio like what I have, is just a small mixer and a focusrite DAW with just a clipping signal light, then the VU meter can help me further fine tune

Dip switch on VU meters? Now this is confusing, so this unit can’t be used for audio mixing purpose?
Dip switches for the VU is to adjust them according to the input signal. They can be used for mixing.

So glad I waited before upgrading to the V550, love the look and feature set on the V324, any news on release date?
It's always good to wait just a bit longer for new device
I bought the V550 just 2 months ago, and the second RCA input is very useful.
I'm very excited which differences in sound do exist between V550 and V324.
While the form factor is very pleasing, the front looks really crowded.

I do suggest, you should really test both!

I'm very intrigued as to the tuning profile they will use for V324 in comparison to the V550, primarily do they go the neutral route or the warm route. The one thing I love on the V550 is the gain settings for line out, that is such a rare feature and ideal for amp pairing.

Exactly. Exactly, I forgot to mention that "pre-gain for line-out"-setting. I'm sure I won't give away v550 in exchange for the v324. I hope these six months to pass very fast, they designed that 324 very feature-rich, I now can understand, why one would buy a second or third amp.

I LOVE my V220, but I really like the look of the V3X series. I don't get the dip switches though? Do they not adjust gain anymore or is the gain tied to the VU meters?

Questions will be answered after I get back from the show.
On the pic of the V234, shouldn't the bottom RCA's be unbalanced out?

Mac book v226 hd 660s2
I will say, give it a couple of days of 100 hours of playtime, and leave the amp/dac on 24/7. It usually takes me 4 days (about 12-15 hours of listening time) to adjust to the sound if I change my gear (DAC, amp, or headphones).

From your headphones and what I have read, the HD650 (Not the 660S2) seems to have this bass cannon sound with the V22x. The V22x line is known for its strong sense of bass. It could be a pairing. That's why other users like to pair the V22x with high-end headphones that tend to be bright-leaning, like the HD800s and HE1000se.

In the end, the best advice is to use it exclusively for a week or so. Then, go back to your old setup. That way, you can see if you like the new sound. I have seen users not liking it at the beginning and then going back to other amps to find them sounding thin or not powerful, especially in the case of the V22x
