Greetings.
I want to get intorduced to a beautiful world of vinyl.
The question is if it possible to build a good setup using old tech (1990-2000).
My goal is to save money on brand, PR and marketing.
Are thy audio hardware from that era any good? Or has the progress gone too far? Be belief is that if you for example compare $500 and $5000 headphones, there is not 10 times difference. But if you compare $50 and $500 headphones the difference will be huge. Is it also truth for vinyl and especially old tech vs. new tech?

I am considering a turntable at some point in the future, and would have no problems buying stuff from that era.

A belt driven turntable is more about build quality and design rather than the technology that’s in it. My current HiFi set up is actually from 1998, and there’s no way I’d even think about upgrading the amp/pre amp to something more modern.
