I was even considering this as an upgrade from my HD650 and a compliment to my HD800S to something darker and harder hitting.

Definitely considering them. How do they compare to the TH900 Mk2 and Z1R in terms of bass and sub bass ?

Doing some reading and it seems from various sources that both the Eikon and Atticus don't have very strong deep reaching bass.

Anyone know if a Vegan headphone that has such bass while still having great detailed mids and highs?

i have the E-Mu teaks. the Atticus doesnt hit as hard, but its pretty damn good. fuller and meatier sound in general. i find with the suede pads the sub-bass is quite good too.

How do you like the bass on your Teaks?

How does the atticus compare to the eikon and auteur's bass response?

Seems like another option could be the SRH1540.

I wonder if Denon headphones use synthetic leather, can't find it out so far by simple searches. Will keep looking.

Bass on the teaks is very good, however the stock pads are pretty terrible. took me awhile to find a solution that retained the sound and made them wearable. i ended up using the synthetic leather Eikon pads with the Dekoni attenuation ring and the comfort is now quite good. i actually have been using these as my work headphones for the last month or so.
i havent lisened to the Eikon or Auteur.

Grayven have you heard the ZMF Ori? Seems like it is a hard hitting bassy headphone. Sounds like hardest hitting of the ZMF lineup?

i have the ZMF Blackwood which is similar. it has terrific bass with really good slam. i adore it. leather pads though.

I just got an answer from Beyerdynamic customer service saying that "all our products are vegan"
