Has anyone tried to modify a ultimate ears cable to use them on any HP's?

I have at the moment 2 extra UE cables from the custom series.
I think they are silver pleated, but dont know for sure. Is the quality of these cables higher then the standard HD600 cable. I am either gonna buy a HD650 cable or make a cable from the extra UE 10 cables I have.

Anyone tried this? Is it an improvement?

EDIT: I see on UE's hompage that the cable is 39$ so I guess they are not silverpleated. ?

It's just copper. The cores are even thinner than that of the HD600's cable. It's not worth replacing the HD's stock cable with the UE.
