I am getting a new pre-amp and it does not have a tape output, which I usually use to drive my hp amp (Headroom Max). My CDP (EMC-1UP) has both balanced and RCA outputs, with no selector. I have used them both at different times, so both are live. The output is more than sufficient to drive my Max/HD-600 combo. Does anyone know if there would be any problem hooking up my pre to one of the outs and my hp amp to another? Of course, I wouldn't have the pre and hp amp on at the same time.

That shouldn't be a problem. It might mention that situation in the user manual.

I use the balanced outs to run my KGSS and the single ended outs to run the Creek. At the same time. It works perfectly using both at the same time. Sounds good too!
