Hi all - I have a pair of old Stax normal bias headphones that I absolutely love but really need an extension (I've thought about re-positioning, getting longer speaker cables etc but it's basically this or move house so I can sit comfortably!) I've been trawling the internet looking for one and drawn up a blank so far (130 Euros plus postage is the only one I found and that's way beyond my means). What I did notice is that the cable I need - the SRE-15N - has a 5 pin male and 6 pin female arrangement. This leads me to wonder whether it might be possible to get a newer extension (5 pin to 5 pin, Pro bias) to work with my normal bias somehow? Is there such thing as a converter? Is the mysterious 6th pin actually used - if a 5 pin male drives normal bias units okay then presumably not? I know it would be sacrilegious but could one remove it to fit a 5 pin female (being careful not to plug it into a pro bias socket??)

Any thoughts would be really appreciated. Thx
