Well, I've been told to stop lugging my full size PC(Raven RV02 case with water cooling, so yes, it is enormous and heavy) to and from Uni each year and get a laptop instead.

What reasonably portable USB DACs would you guy recommend? It'd be nice if it plays well with a Matrix M-Stage, as I'm planning on getting on of those in a month or so.

The iBasso D7, Matrix Mini-i, Cube are great buy under this budget.

The iBasso looks good. Not so hot on the Matrix Mini-i.

What do people think of the Matrix M-Stage USB? 24/192 support doesn't matter to me, since my music collection is still mostly 16/44 with a few 24/96 albums and tracks thrown in.

The M-Stage cases are 26mm x 10.5mm x 4.8mm (approximately 10in x 4in x 1.75in). Is that reasonably transportable?

One very nice thing about the M-Stage USB is having everything in one case. But, I wasn't terribly impressed by reviews of the DAC section of the M-Stage USB. NOTE: I haven't listened to it. Personally, for that extra $30, I'd buy another Behringer UCA-222.

The M-Stage DAC is another product altogether. If I can bring myself to spend another $300, I'd seriously consider it.
