Hey Head-fi.
 
I have decided to upgrade my HD555's to the HD650's.
 
I just need some advice on which headphone amp to get. I have a budget of around <300 Dollars.
 
Now I assume I won't need a DAC since I already have a dedicated soundcard (Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Pro) although I may be wrong about this! If this is the case please let me know!
 
The headphone amp does not need to be portable as I will only be using it with my PC.

I don't really like the soundblaster for serious hp's like the hd650. But a nice amp in the price range you mention is Schitt Asgard.

I have the HD650 paired with a HT Omega Claro Halo soundcard which has a built in headphone amp (have to flip the jumper on the card to high ohm).  Plenty of power to drive it.  Excellent sound and clarity.  Check out some reviews on the soundcard at Newegg.com or the PC section of Head Fi.

Be aware that while Sonar Stx can drive hd650 if you want deep quality bass u need an amplifier
