Evening everybody

Just wondering if anyone could tell me whether the IE8 is a worthwhile upgrade from the UM2

I like the bass of the UM2 and the isolation, and I undertand the isolation will be less on the IE8 from my searches on the forums here.

I have not seen a direct comparison or review done

So in terms of clarity highs soundstage etc should I purchase some IE8's

I mostly listen to downtempo stuff house dance music etc

Once u listen to fully burned in IE8, u will find out that UM2 sound very muddy and muffled with harsh high. This is based on my memory though.

x3. UM2s are good, but in comparison with others, there are much better alternatives for the same or lower price. Depends on your preferences though.

If you played with UM2's fit sufficiently, that was not the case. The fact that they still cost $300 is a different story though...
