Very old news now, but having demo'd both these machines, and purchasing the Cambridge 640C v2 back in 2006, I pretty much know exactly what you are taking about in your review. The Cambridge is long gone, and I am now running Arcam AVR and irDAC in my main system, so I guess I agree with your lean towards the Arcam sound. At least when you wrote this excellent and thorough review. Well done.
