Hi there, hoping someone may be able to advise.
I just picked up two pairs of HD 25s from ebay, hoping to have some matched monitors for when the wife and I play and record music together. They arrived within a day of each other and... They're *utterly* different! Different output level, sound signature, everything. How is this possible? One pair kicks out a similar signal to my 250 Ohm DT770s but sounds very muffled and restrained, the other pair almost took my head off and are very bright.
Are there different versions out there? I don't know what to do next - return them (but if so which pair?!) or buy another pair and sell on the ones that sound different. But if the one that's different is defective...
