is every tube name unique? like 6n3p. is there any other beside the russian tube Skylab talking about in the yarland p100 thread? and when do i know i need a better/different tube? and where can i get some?

You can refer to the tube tutorial sticky. Tells you almost everything you need to know about tubes. The numbers and characters in the name are an indication of the things like voltage and gives information on the tubes.
