Hello,

I recently purchased an original AKG K240 Sextett (4-600 ohm). I also started to build an EL84 based tube amplifier and it came to my mind that I could also put a headphone output on the amp.
I saw some very good reviews on the net about Leben CS-300X especially about its headphone output. According to the information its output transformer has a separate secondary winding for the headphone.
I also would like to make a dedicated secondary for the headphone but I don't know what impedance should it be.

Could any of you suggest what output impedance is generally used in headphone amps?

Currently I am using this AKG K240 Sextett but could also upgrade it to a better one after a time so I would like to have the opt winded with this information in mind.

I would really appreciate any help!

Thanks!
László
