Hey all,

So I've decided I'm going to wipe my 80gb ipod classic of all my terrible 128 itunes purchases. What I'm planning on doing is to move all my flac stuff onto it. However, since its a classic and I can't rockbox it, I need to switch the flac to alac. I'm running my flac on foobar, and can't seem to find a simple way to make an alac copy of my library. Would I be correct in assuming my only option is to make wav copies of everything and then switch those to alac?

Also, seeing as this is in portable source gear, someone might be able to help me out. From what I've read, the ipod classic actually has a somewhat respectable dac. Would it be feasible to just buy a portable amp instead of an amp dac combo in an attempt to save money?

Thanks for the input!
