What IC cables do you have now on your E5 - the ones you settled on?

I use custom made Argento Audio RCA cables. The cables are made of very pure silver (2*6 strands/channel) which is seperated by a cottonthread and insulated by a teflon tube. Actually there's not much Argento left as I have treated them in several ways:

- cryogenically treated (to one-way traffic and compress the silver crystals)
- wire + cottonthread is heated to 250oC (482oF) (to elongate the individual crystals)
- wire + cottonthread is 'drowned' in linseed oil, oven-dryed at 75-100oC (167-212oF), and air dryed (linseed oil have very good isolating qualities and minimizes static interference)
- wire + cottonthread is re-inserted into the teflontubes and damping silicone is suctioned into the tubes (to minimize micro vibrations)
- the original RCA plugs are replaced with Eichmann Silver Bulletplugs

This new (and improved!) cable demanded quite long burn-in time, but it was worth the waiting! Transients are much clearer with better reverberation. The bass is tighter and the transparency and 3-dimensionality of the music is very improved! These custom made cables beat my 'TaraLabs The One' 3000 USD cables with a clean cut margin...

Got my DHL tracking number a couple of hours ago... imagine the horror of getting my E5, and having to leave it under the tree until Christmas...

Since some people here seem to like them so much I've bought a 3 foot pair of Dimarzio M-Path interconnects to try them out. So far I've prefered solid core over stranded copper. Let's see if this one will make me change my mind. I should have them by next week.

Just want to add that I might pick this CDP for my dedicated headphone system as well. I love my Azur but this raisin's Eastsound is very impressive for the price! I actually think if it was made in the US or by a US company it would go for at least 2k (minimum!).

Welcome to the bandwagon, PsychoZX.

As for cables, i'm nicely content with my Tara Labs connects. Over the DIY 22awg silver-plated-copper i was using before, they considerably improved dynamics, and added a hint of warmth to the E5's clarity that works wonders with the types of music i typically listen to.

I'd ask him about it... the gold raincoats are ok, but the powercord is great.

I think it runs for around $150 USD when sold seperately.

They aren't. But you can order it along with your Eastsound for an extra $55.

AS WE HAD REJECTED SIMILAR REQUESTS FROM OTHER CLIENTS ALREADY PUCHASED THE
PACKAGE SO IT IS VERY UNFAIR TO THEM IF WE PERMIT ON YOURS. I WISH VERY MUCH
FOR YOUR UNDERSTANDING IN THIS MATTER. IN RESPONSE TO THAT SO WE HAD
DEVELOPED SPECIAL PRICE FOR PURCHASE OF THE RAINCOAT SERIES HIGH-END CABLE
TOGETHER WITH THE E5 PACKAGE.

PERSONALLY I SUPPORTED THAT SILVER RAINCOAT POWER CABLE IS A SUPERB POWER
CABLE WHICH SOUNDS BETTER THAN ANY POWER CABLE I HAD COME ACROSS WITHIN
USD500- RANGE; AND DEFINITELY A MUST TO THE E5 CD PLAYER FOR MUCH ENHANCED
SONIC IMPROVEMENT ESPECIALLY THE SOUND STAGE. ALSO THIS POWER CABLE CAN
IMPROVE TO A TERRIFIC EXTENT THE PERFORMANCE OF A PRE-AMPLIFIER AND TUBE
AMPLIFIERS.

GOLD RAINCOAT RCA IS ALSO IS GREAT RCA CABLE WITH MUSICAL CHARACTERS AND
DYNAMIC SOUNDSTAGE. NEARLY ALL AUDIOPHILES HAVING GOT IT COMMENTED THAT IT
SOUNDS BETTER THAN A NORDOST BLUE HEAVEN.

AGAIN, I WISH THAT YOU CAN FORGIVE MY NOT BEING ABLE TO COPE WITH YOUR
REQUEST. PLEASE ADD USD55- TO USD747- FOR THE ADDITIONAL SILVER RAINCOAT
POWER CABLE. DELIVERY FEE OR PAYPAL FEE ALREADY INCLUDED.

and there you have it folks!
