I’m actually really interested in this. I was excited for a more affordable cayin dap, but it has the bonus benefit of tubes
This little DAP really surprised me at CanJam. For such a small, inexpensive device to output such warm, powerful sound. I definitely want to try it out some more, was really great.

Prices are wild now on the top end but you do get some good value sets from time to time. Maybe more so these days. I'm looking at bass focused (without bleeding into everything else) options around the 1k mark which is a short list of few things. The Titan is what I'm trying to hold off for since I'm hoping it's truly as good a value as some indicate it will be. I wish I could try the Crimson too even if it's a BA set and kinda bright on the top end.

Look into the Shanling MG800 (single 11mm custom dynamic driver by Shanling)... It has really deep, punchy bass which doesn't cloud the mids at all. Lows are a bit more sub-bass focused which is why. The rest of the range is wonderful, very lifelike in tonality, full rich midrange with excellent detail and resolution, sparkly treble which never gets harsh, all combined with a massive stage that conveys a grand 3D environment (being semi-open shell). This set has taken me totally by surprise.... It's under budget too!

It's gonna cost him but I bet it's worth it.

drftr
Any time you can make memories that last a life time is worth it.
It is that good imo lol personally, I prefer the 2021 version but to each their own it’s a very slight difference. Hopefully you can try both.
Try both. Buy both. There are options. What makes you prefer the 2021 version of the annihilator more?

When I had them side-by-side My attention was pulled more towards the treble/air on the 2021 meanwhile, the 2023 with the bass increase felt more of an all rounder with the treble sauce being a little less prominent.. both are awsome

Honestly, I'm just wishing there was an Xe6 (or even an EXT) that offered 80-90% of what it does at about a third of the price. Probably wishful thinking? :)

Looks like you’re having a ton of fun! Hope you have a great time.

I love Maui, I got engaged and honeymooned there so it’s a special place to me.

Water cooler I have a question. Has anyone tried any non-stock cable for the Anni 2023? If yes how did it go? Any cable recommendations?
Liquid Links Venom is a common recommendation.

I’ve tried Nightjar Vanguard 4W. It gives notes more body and improves the bass significantly, but the treble becomes darker.

So naturally you must eat it to assert your dominance.

Any increase in price for the Nightjar Vanguard with the Anni 2023 connectors? For the Vanguard does the 4 versus 8W make a difference?

Thanks for sharing.

Yes by putting it into a Pina colada. Assert dominance by showing it that not only are you unafraid of it, but that its friends should be scared as well.
