I've had some updates this week to my dopamine filled audio adventures. I thought I would share my progress.

After some private discussions this week with Watercoolers, I decided to sell my Elysian X.



This is the most difficult time I had listing a set. A wise Cooler once said: "Dont listen to it before you box it up!" I failed that test. It's funny how an air bending audio device can put a spell on ones emotions (and wallet).



X was pretty end game for 1/3 of my playlist. There's also the fact that it's a limited edition of 40. Ultimately, I thought it would be stategic to sell while it is highly sought after. The next Elysian flagship will be at the top of my shortlist especially if it comes with the next generation of DD drivers.

On another tangent, my Impact CIEM & XE6 CIEM has also been put on pause.

XE6 after reading impressions about the latest Fir prototype. Before I sold my universal XE6, I've tried cable rolling to get a slightly "cleaner" XE6 sound. If this prototype has a slimmer mid bass with a sub bass elevation, it would also be on my short list.

Impact: With regards to Impact, pairing Mentor with SP3K has closed some of the timbral gaps that Impact had over Mentor. I am curious to see if the PW Orpheus takes that even further. I'll still keep an eye out for a used universal in the future once its market ages. In the meanwhile, I should be able to "survive" with Mentor .

The search for my next IEM continues. With Canjam being 2 weeks away, I put together a list of gear that I want to audition:

I will be at the MusicTeck booth again this year in NYC helping Andrew. Once again UM will have their own table. Not sure what will be at the table I will be at? I am driving out to see Andrew this morning to pick up some items to familiarize myself with, I want to be as helpful as possible.

Last year everyone wanted to hear Traillii and Jewell and contrast them, I will be very surprised if that same thing is the focus of my table this year?

As for me and my journey the only item I am super interested in is the LP7 from Luxury and Precision which (keep reading) will not be out till the end of this year. The E7 will be there, and I really do want to check out the UI they came up with.

There are no IEMs that I think I will want to add at this time, though maybe something will rock my world unexpectedly. Mid March will see the long awaited installation of my 2 channel system, I am short on bandwidth with the excitement for that system, been waiting over a year now, technically my whole life.
My birthday is the 24th so I could trick myself into justifying another set or a crazy cable if something is not just iterative.

No matter, the people is what it is all about this year for me. I do plan on doing my share of posting images from the show. So excited.

I find comparing cables (and DAPs) even in a shop troublesome because of the noise and wouldn't have much confidence in my notes when demoing during a show. That's just me apparently.

The only value for me would be in hearing IEMs and meeting people.
