Simple mistake to make. Always recheck all the specs when you see a better offer.

I wonder if we'll be seeing any sub $50 DAP with good performance and a 64GB storage

It's gonna be a helluva bargain if this X02 can beat Sony A17.

Not a chance. But I hope that he will play at the level of Clip Zip.

For me it outperfom the Clip+ but I never really enjoyd the pretty dead sound (to my ears) that it puts out. IIRC Clip+ and Clip Zip should sound the same.

That's good to know. I suppose the Clip+/Zip are a lot more compact whereas the Ruizu X02 has a bigger footprint for more innards and juice. I think...

Sounds correct :) The X02 is much thinner than the Clip+ though.

I know... I know this is the X02 appreciation thread, but damn if those X01 don't look sexier than the iPod nano! Though I suppose you wouldn't want to be using these out in the sun

I think it's safe to say that this is the best $20 I've ever spendt on audio gear.

I would love to hear from someone that own both the Kogan MP3 player and the X02..........

Yes they look great, I choosed the X02 due to the larger screen. I wonder if they use the same chip?

I wondered that too but can't find much info on them. They do seem to be capable of playing more or less the same file formats though, unlike the X03. FLAC, WAV or APE aren't listed for the X03.

X01 also do not support expansion card and are priced higher than the X02 apparently.

But X02 has stupid volume control. Maybe that's why it's so cheap

touche. Volume control is one of the more important feature for a DAP, but I don't actually find myself fiddling with it all too much so it doesn't bother me as much. Track change and pause play are more important IMO.

Edit: I also noticed the with where the Audio jack port is located, the X01 would be awkward with a straight or 45 degree jack.

It has a lot of minor issues but sound for the money ratio is sky high :)

But yes, if you want to change the volume while it's in your pocket you've got a problem

I'd be happy if they can make a more refined version of the X09 with pricing range around $80-$150. Retain the clip and screen and add water resistant feature, dedicated volume control buttons and maybe a nicer DAC and better UI...
